However, their hard, tight bristles can trap a lot of hair, bacteria, and some styling products, which can cause your brush to get extra dirty and give you a bad experience. If you're looking for a way to clean your edge brush, then you're in luck. Today, you will learn some methods and tips about how to clean your edge brush.

The edge brush, also known as the edge control brush, is small boar bristle brush with a long handle for smoothing damp baby hair along the hairline for a stylish look. No matter what kind of edge style you want to achieve, you can do it with an edge brush.

Why Should You Clean Edge Brush?

People may often underestimate the importance of keeping their edge brushes clean, but it's very important. Research shows that hair brushes (both regular and edge brushes) are the worst breeding ground for bacteria. The average hairbrush contains nearly 3,500 bacterial colonies per square inch, which seems to provide an extremely comfortable environment for microbes to live in.

1. Not cleaning your edge brush can lead to the creation of germs and bacteria that can spread through the edge brush to your hair and scalp, which can leave your hair not only looking extra greasy but soft and lifeless.

2. To have a good-looking edge, you will use some styling products which will create a buildup on the edge brush. Although not everything is harmful, if you don't clean your edge brush in time, it may cause odor and even irritate your scalp, leading to redness, pain, etc.

3. If you've just washed your hair and then comb it with an edge brush that hasn't been washed in a while, you're basically dirtying your hair all over again, which means you've washed your hair for nothing, which tends to make you feel particularly sad and angry.

How To Clean Edge Brush Quickly And Simply?

Baking soda and vinegar are things we use a lot in our lives. In addition to their unique effects, the combination of the two can produce a very strong cleaning effect that cleans edge brushes very well.

What You Need:

Rat-tail combs (or other sharp stick-like objects)

Bowl (not plastic)

Warm water

Baking soda

Vinegar

Dry towel

How To Do:

Step 1: Apply the tip of the rat-tail comb to remove any hairs in the bristles and white residue at the tips.

Step 2: Pour the right amount (about 470 ml) of warm water, white vinegar,  soda into a bowl and stir them so that all the ingredients are evenly mixed and can produce better results.

Step 3: Hold the brush by the handle and place the bristles face down in the mixture and wait about an hour (if your edge brush has a smaller comb tool at the end of the handle, then you can use a wide bowl for the mixture so you can make sure the entire brush is submerged in the mixture).

Step 4: Next, remove the brush from the mixture and rinse off the soaking solution with warm water. Meanwhile, use your fingers to remove any white residue near the tips of the brush.

Step 5: Place the brush on a dry towel, making sure the bristles are facing down so that water runs from the root of the bristles to the tip and then into the towel, allowing the edge brush to dry more quickly.

2. Apply Tea Tree Oil

Bowl (not plastic)

Warm water

Tea tree oil

Shampoo

Dry towel

How To Do:

Step 1: Use the tip of the rat-tail comb to remove any hairs in the bristles and white residue at the tips.

Step 2: Pour a moderate amount of hot water into the bowl, then add 6 to 8 drops of tea tree oil and 2 tablespoons of shampoo and mix well.

Step 3: Place the edge brush bristles face down in the bowl and wait about 25 minutes (if you are cleaning several edge brushes, make sure all bristles are covered).

Step 4: Next, remove the rim brush from the bowl and rinse it with water. Meanwhile, you need to run your fingers through the bristles to remove the residue(you can use an old toothbrush to scrub deeply if this residue is difficult to remove with your fingers).

Step 5: Finally, shake off excess water from the edge brush and place the brush on a dry towel until it is completely dry.

3. Use Soap
